Letter from Habitat for HumanityOctober 30, 2000

Dear Friends of Habitat,

Thank you! Such a simple phrase but we would like to convey to you how much we appreciate your help with our first Golf Marathon. The "Habitat Invitational" was a great success and
we ow it all to the golfers and sponsors such as yourself.
Driving, hooking, slicing, chipping, putting and lots of swinging was the order of the day on October 2 when God gave us perfect weather and golfers put in an all-out effort to help Habitat.
Through their efforts and yours, we were able to raise over $42,000.00!

As you know, the aim was to raise enough money to build a Habitat house at 27 Congress Street. The funds raised have enabled us to begin work. The basement is going in now and, on October 28, a large group of professional, skilled construction people from our area are going to donate their time and talent to put up the walls and roof all in one day. This will be a very big day and we invite you to drive by and take a look.

We have enclosed a tax receipt for your records. If these amounts do not coincide with your pledge and payment, or if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call. May God bless you for your generosity.

Sincerely,
Art Pearce
Executive Director

In-Kind Blessings

"Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
This familiar Bible passage found in Luke 6:38 can best describe those who willingly and unselfishly give to Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity through in-kind gifts.  They have been blessed and are in deed being a blessing.

This past quarter we would like to say thank you to those who contributed toward our efforts.  Your partnership is valuable and greatly appresciated. Job well done:

As published in the Marshall Community AD-VISOR on March 1, 2000

Shown here (left to right) are Lieutenant Snyder, Kidder and Detective Etter.   As citizens of the community, it's nice to think that we would be willing to donate whatever we could to our community or charity, and an opportunity came for one Marshall man when he was recently approached by members of the Albion Police Department. What is remarkable about the request is that the man wasn't approached for the usual donation that most of us make, instead he was asked to donate one of his company's vehicles.

After some consideration, Bryan Kidder, owner of Kidder Heating & A/C, agreed to donate the vehicle, which will be utilized by Albion's High Risk Entry Team. "We needed a vehicle large enough to accommodate all of the members of our team, as well as the equipment we use in these types of operations," explained Detective Kurt Etter, team leader. In the past, the team has utilized a vehicle one half the size of the new vehicle donated by Kidder.

Not only will the new vehicle be used to transport members of the High Risk Entry Team, but in the future it will be utilized as a communication center that will house radio equipment, lights and a generator system. "From the vehicle we will be able to communicate with other outside agencies," said Lieutenant Ken Snyder, Albion Public Safety Commander.

The two officers acknowledged Kidder's donation by stating that "without citizens like Mr. Kidder, none of this would be possible. Citizen support helps to keep us alive." In addition to donations from the community, the High Risk Entry Team has spent thousands of dollars out of its Drug Forfeiture Fund to outfit team members.

The use of the vehicle will not be restricted to only the Albion Police Department. The vehicle will be loaned out to other agencies as well. "Our team will go anywhere we are needed," stressed Etter. If you wish to make a donation to the Albion Police Department you can contact either Lieutenant Ken Snyder or Detective Kurt Etter at (517) 629-3933.

Letter from the Marshall Soccer ClubJanuary 19, 2001

To Our Friends at Kidder Heating & Air Conditioning,

On behalf of the Marshall Soccer Club, we would like to thank you for your contribution towards the purchase and development of the Verona Road soccer fields. As a result of the tremendous support from the community as a whole including foundations, businesses and individuals, we were able to raise sufficient funds to be the successful bidder for the Verona Road soccer fields. We will be working with the Marshall Public Schools towards a closing on the property sometime in June of this year.

Your contribution has made it possible for us to provide a "home" for our soccer program for the long-term. This assures that children of our community will continue to have the ability to play soccer in Marshall for years to come. The Marshall Soccer Club plans on developing additional fields on the site and to improve the facilities to continue to provide a quality program for our children.

You can take great pride in knowing that by contributing towards the purchase of the fields you have invested in the future of the children of our community. We invite you to stop by the fields on some Saturday during our soccer season to see how your investment is paying off in smiles, laughter and children learning how to work together! Thanks again for your support.

President, Marshall Soccer Club

AGLP
Dear Kidder Heating,
I just wanted to thank you on behalf of the entire AGLP group for your support.  Every donation has helped us and you have definately opened a lot of doors for our group.  We've gotten to feel the accomplishment of standing on top of two mountains and got to see a whale jump out of water thanks to you.
